Student learning motivation is an important factor to produce high-quality graduates. It can grow from the inside of themselves (intrinsic) or it occurs because of from outside the students (extrinsic). This study was aimed to reveal both students' intrinsic and extrinsic factors toward their motivation in online learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic era. The sudden transformation from offline learning to online one in Sriwijaya State Polytechnic, presents internal and external motivation factors of the students. Using random sampling, there were 922 students participated in a survey questionnaire. The collected data were analysed using Self-Determination Theory of Deci and Ryan (1985). It was revealed that the intrinsic factors (interest, enjoyment, satisfaction) influence the student learning motivation toward their online learning by 81.2%, 74.6% and 92.5%. Only the intrinsic factor of encouragement is lower than the counterparts (44%). While the influences of extrinsic factors on student learning motivation toward their online learning are classified good; identified regulation (79.85), integrated regulation (77.2%), introjected regulation (73.1%), and external regulation (72.8). Related to amotivation factors, students had no serious amotivation factors in their online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic era. The motivations in online learning are positively correlated with students' curiosities to learn new knowledge and enjoy new learning experiences (intrinsic motivation) and are influenced by regulation and environmental condition (extrinsic motivation).
The purpose of the study was to focus on parents‘ involvement in the homework, and lecturers’ involvement in homework of students. Participants consisted of parents of engineering and non-engineering students in State Polytechnics of Sriwijaya and its teaching staff. The sample consisted of 150 parents of 95% high-income status and 24 certified lecturers. The research used a qualitative approach. Data was collected via surveys answered by parents and lecturers based on Lickert scale items adapted from Reglin, Cameron, and Losike-Sedimo. The results showed that parental involvement towards students’ homework completion and partnerships between parents and lecturers were very low. Since educational gains of parental involvement are noted and confirmed the significance of parents in educational processes, it is recommended that parents who do not assist their children in homework should be sensitized to do so.

In this research, the writers used Research & Development (R & D) methodology. The purposive sampling included 3 high classes and 3 low classes consisting of 148 students. To collect the data, tests of reading comprehension and vocabulary were given and then statistically calculated with the paired-sample t-tests. Shapiro-Wilk test was used to the normality of data distribution. The findings indicated that the students in the high and low classes could significantly improve their reading comprehension achievement and vocabulary mastery. The students have also shown very positive moral values towards their friends such cooperative, respectful, responsible, and helpful and report that it has made their reading process more tangible and interesting. Ensuring the quality of online distance learning in institutions of higher education has been a growing concern during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted on students’ perceptions toward the quality of online distance learning and utilized qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate the perceptions of students. To collect the data, the researchers used a modified questionnaire. Survey analysis was carried out. A total of 570 students from two study programs, Public Sector Accounting and Business Administration at State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya, were asked to answer a questionnaire. The findings of this research revealed that majority of students considered the use of online distance learning in English teaching and learning is effective and efficient in terms of time. The online distance learning is the best choice to keep students away from the COVID-19 pandemic spread. The findings can be used by any lecturers to understand students’ perceptions regarding online distance learning, and ultimately improve their online distance learning instructional practices.
