Photocatalytic water splitting has been considered as one of the most promising methods to produce hydrogen as a source of clean fuel. Use of co-catalysts and elemental doping in TiO 2 has been extensively explored for effective photocatalysis. Here we report the synthesis of visible light responsive and Pt on the N-TiO 2 nanoparticles, showed much higher photocatalytic activity for hydrogen production than that prepared by the one-step method, where Co 3 O 4 is evenly dispersed in N-TiO 2 .The position of the co-catalyst Co 3 O 4 in TiO 2 has a significant effect on the photocatalytic properties of the prepared photocatalysts.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
