AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang pelaksanaan pembelajaran seni budaya materi seni rupa berbasis pendekatan saintifik di SMP Bukittinggi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjekdalampenelitianiniadalahguru seni budaya di SMP Kota Bukittinggi. Teknik pengumpulan dat amenggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pedoman observasi dan pedoman wawancara.Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, sertapenarikan kesimpulandan verifikasi. Pengujian keabsahan data dilakukan melaluiuji kredibilitas dengan triangulasi teknik dan sumber.Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Pertama; guru seni budaya SMPN Bukittinggi sudah membuat Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) berdasarkan pendekatan saintifik. Tetapi dalam perumusan masing-masing langkah belum sesuai dengan ketentuannya. Kedua; guru seni budaya SMPN Bukittinggi belum lagi melaksanakan strategi/model pembelajaran berdasarkan pendekatan saintifik sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Hal ini karena ketidak pahaman guru terhadap penggunaan strategi/model dan langkah-langkahpembelajaran berdasarkan pendekatan saintifik. Kata Kunci: pelaksanaan pembelajaran, pembelajaran berbasis pendekatan saintifik.AbstractThis study aims to obtain an overview of the implementation of art and culture learning art material based on the scientific approach in Bukittinggi Middle School. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research is the teacher of cultural arts in the Bukittinggi City Middle School. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research instruments used were observation guidelines and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques used were analytical techniques which included data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. Testing the validity of the data is done through testing credibility with triangulation of techniques and sources. The findings of the study show that: First; Bukittinggi Public High School art teacher has made a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) based on a scientific approach. But in the formulation of each step not in accordance with the provisions. Second; Bukittinggi Middle School teachers of cultural arts have not yet implemented strategies / learning models based on the scientific approach as expected. This is due to the teacher's lack of understanding of the use of strategies / models and learning steps based on the scientific approachKeywords: implementation of learning, learning based on scientific approaches.
The aim of this research was to find out the effect of using discovery learning strategy on the students' performance in the Arts and Culture subject at SMPN 18 Padang. It was a quasi-experimental research which applied Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this research were all students registered in the first semester in the academic year 2014/2015, and the samples were chosen purposively (purposive sampling). The source of the data was the written test administered to the students. The data obtained then were analyzed statistically. The test consisted of multiple choice questions on theories of arts and culture. T-test was used to prove the hypothesis of this research. The finding of the research showed that the students taught by using discovery learning strategy performed better than those taught by using conventional teaching strategy. Abstract-Worksheets, one of the instructional media, have to be prepared before teaching since they affect the teaching and learning process. The 2013 curriculum requires the learning implementation to be applied based on the scientific approach including the development of worksheets. However, it has not yet been applied at schools. This research aimed at finding out and developing worksheets based on the scientific approach using discovery learning model suitable, practical and effective to improve students abilities. The design of the research was research and development using the 4-D model: define, design, develop, and disseminate (Thiagarajan and Sivasailam, in Trianto, 2009). The quality of the worksheets was analyzed from several points. Its suitability was analyzed from experts points of view while its practicality was analyzed from teacher's and students' responses. In addition, the effectiveness of the worksheets was analyzed from students learning outcomes. The instruments of the research were expert validation sheets, students and teachers response questionnaires, and test. The research result shows that the worksheets development have fulfilled the valid category. It was analyzed from the presentation, content, language and graphics found in the worksheets. It means the worksheets based on the scientific approach using the discovery learning model are suitable.
Crafting in junior high school consists of some learning materials such as handcrafting, processing, engineering, and cultivating. The learning material that must be given junior high school students in Bukittinggi is crafting because it is appropriate with the conditions of the area that is close to the centers of handicrafts. In fact, the problem found from the observation was that the teachers generally (82,73%) are not from the art and craft education. The teachers who are from art or craft education will be easier to teach crafts than those who are not. Those who are not from art education got problems in the implementation of craft learning materials. It was happened because they did not master or did not have enough experience about it. Moreover, the junior high school teachers also lacked of learning strategies that are in line with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. As a result, the implementation of craft learning, especially craft materials, did not run well. The solution offered to solve the above-mentioned problems was the application of science and technology with several approaches; 1) designing, 2) counseling by presenting training material, 3) training in crafting and designing learning strategies, and 4) mentoring. The results of this activity were; 1) Most of junior high school teachers (77.77%) have mastered the craft materials given, especially makrame and woven crafts, 2) Most of them (88.88%) have mastered learning strategies that are in line with scientific approaches in the 2013 Curriculum.
