D icobalt Com plexes, 3-V inylpropargylic A lcohol D erivatives, C helating Ligands, Ligand A ssisted C luster Syntheses D icobalt com plexes o f 3-vinylpropargylic alcohol derivatives react with biscyclooctenetricarbonyliron to give new chelate com plexes o f the iron tricarbonyl fragm ent w ith the olefinic double b o n d and the alcohol oxygen ato m b o u n d to the iron fragm ent. These co m p o u n d s react upon heating in an inert solvent to give F eC o-alkynyl cluster com plexes in high yields.O ne o f these com po u n d s has been stru ctu rally characterized by X -ray crystallography.
