Abstract. This paper analyzed the content, distribution, and sedimentation mechanism of Cd in Jiaozhou Bay based on investigation data in April, July and October 1985. Results showed that the Cd contents in surface waters ranged from 0.04-0.32 μg L -1 , and were meeting Grade I for Cd (1.00 μg L -1 ) in Chinese Sea Water Quality Standard, indicated that Jiaozhou Bay and the open sea had not been polluted by Cd in 1985. High Cd sedimentation locations were occurring in different regions due to Cd contents were different in surface waters. In April and October, high Cd sedimentation location was in the open sea in where marine current was the major source; while in July, high Cd sedimentation location was in the bay mouth in where stream flow was the major source. In generally, the spatial-temporal of sedimentation features of Cd were determined by pollution sources and the vertical water's effect.
Abstract. This paper analyzed the content, distribution, source and background level of PHC in Jiaozhou Bay based on investigation data in April, July and October 1986. Results showed that the PHC contents in surface waters ranged from 0.005-0.122 mg L -1 , and were meeting Grade I/II (0.05 mg L -1 ) and Grade III (0.30 mg L -1 ) in Chinese Sea Water Quality Standard, indicated that the pollution level of PHC in Jiaozhou Bay was slight/moderate in 1986. Stream flow and marine current were the two major PHC sources, whose source strengths were 0.017-0.066 mg L -1 and 0.122 mg L -1 , respectively. The pollution of PHC in the open waters, by contrast, was higher than in the stream flow.
This paper analyzed the contents, pollution levels and their seasonal variations of Pb in the early stage of the reform and opening-up in Jiaozhou Bay, China. Results showed that Pb contents in surface waters in spring, summer and autumn in
Based on investigation data on petroleum hydrocarbon (PHC) in April, August and November 1981 in bottom waters in Jiaozhou Bay, we analyzed the content and distribution of PHC. Results showed that PHC contents in April, August and November 1981 in bottom waters were 0.028-0.123 mg L -1 and were meeting Grade II (0.05 mg L -1 ) and III (0.30 mg L -1 ) in National Sea Water Quality Standard (GB 3097-1997). PHC contents were decreasing from the inside of the bay mouth to the outside of the bay mouth in April and August, yet were reverse in November. We found the migration rules of PHC in bottom waters in marine bay, that were the substances could be generated from both the bay and the open waters by means of vertical water's effect, and the PHC contents were diffusing from the bay mouth no matter from the bay of the open waters.
Abstract. This paper analyzed the seasonal variations and land-ocean transfer process of Pb in Jiaozhou Bay based on investigation data in surface waters in different seasons during [1979][1980][1981][1982][1983]. Results showed that during 1979-1983, both stream flow and marine current were the major Pb sources in Jiaozhou Bay. However, the inputs of Pb from atmosphere deposition and the top of the island were not beginning until 1981, and the inputs of Pb from marine traffic was not beginning until 1983.The seasonal variations of Pb contents in this bay were mainly determined by the inputs of Pb by anthropogenic activities, particularly the variations of the sources strengths. The land-ocean transfer of Pb could be expressed by a block diagram model, which indicated that Pb contents in the marine bay were mainly determined by the strength and frequency of Pb inputs from anthropogenic activities, and meanwhile, Pb was moving from high content areas to low content areas in the ocean interior.
