Background: Sec13 is a core component in both the protein trafficking complex and the nuclear pore complex (NPC). Results: The role of Sec13 in retina development has been investigated.
Conclusion:The NPC function of Sec13 is essential for retina development. Significance: This is the first genetic evidence to differentiate the contributions of the two functions of Sec13 during organogenesis.
Background: Nupl07 is an important component of nuclear pore complexes, but its developmental roles remain elusive. Results: Zebrafish zygotic nup107 mutant embryos show tissue-specific defects with impaired nuclear export of mRNAs. Conclusion: Nup107 plays an essential role in development of vertebrate embryos. Significance: This study provides the first vertebrate model to elucidate Nup107 function in embryonic development.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
