The wireless temperature sensor could be widely used in on-line temperature monitoring of electrical equipment. In order to power wireless sensor and be isolated with high voltage, two novel kinds of micro generators excited by stray energy in electrical equipment are proposed. The vibration generator and temperature gradient generator could harvest mechanical vibration energy and heat energy in the equipment respectively. The vibration generator with piezoelectric cantilever and the temperature gradient generator with thermoelectric module are modeled and analyzed firstly. And then, the energy consumption of wireless sensor is studied. With appropriate design, these generators could be isolated with high voltage, and generate enough energy to power the wireless temperature sensor.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
