The treatment of phenylboronic acid PhB(OH) 2 with 4,4 0 -bipyridine (4,4 0 -bpy) in a 3:1 ratio afforded adduct [(Ph 3 B 3 O 3 )(g 1 -4,4 0 -bpy)] (1), whereas the reaction of PhB(OH) 2 with 4,4 0 -bpy in a 6:1 ratio afforded adduct [(Ph 3 B 3 O 3 ) 2 (l-4,4 0 -bpy)] (2). Similarly, the reaction of PhB(OH) 2 with trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (bpe) in a 6:1 ratio gave bpe bridged adduct [(Ph 3 B 3 O 3 ) 2 (l-bpe)] (3). The crystal structures of 1ÁC 6 H 6 , 2Á2C 7 H 8 , 2ÁC 6 H 14 , and 3ÁC 6 H 6 , along with other spectroscopic properties are reported. The weak NÁÁÁH-C hydrogen-bonds exist in the one-dimensional chains of 1ÁC 6 H 6 . Graphical Abstract Treatment of PhB(OH) 2 with 4,4 0 -bpy or bpe under different conditions afforded three new adducts [(Ph 3 B 3 O 3 )(g 1 -4,4 0 -bpy)] (1), [(Ph 3 B 3 O 3 ) 2 (l-4,4 0 -bpy)] (2) and [(Ph 3 B 3 O 3 ) 2 (l-bpe)] (3) through the B-N dative bonds.
Two new organically templated borates, [(1,10-phen)(H3BO3)2] (1) and [2-EtpyH][(B5O6(OH)4] (2), were synthesized under mild solvothermal conditions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, elemental analyses and thermogravimetry. Complex 1 is a co-crystal component in which B(OH)3 molecules form crinkled tapes via hydrogen bonds, which in turn are packed in a two-dimensional framework with 1,10-phen molecules sandwiched between the framework of crinkled chains. The structure of complex 2 is composed of 2-ethylpyridinium cations [2-EtpyH]+ and pentaborate anions [B5O6(OH)4]– which are linked together with hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional supramolecular framework. The templating [2-EtpyH]+ cations are situated in the cavities arising from the supramolecular pentaborate framework and interact also with the inorganic framework through hydrogen bonds.
In the title complex, [CuCl(C14H12N4)2], the CuI atom, lying on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two N atoms of two 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,4,6,11-tetraazanaphthacene ligands and one Cl atom, also lying on the twofold rotation axis, in a distorted trigonal-planar geometry. The complex molecules are connected into a one-dimensional structure along [001] via N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds and further into a three-dimensional structure via N—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. π–π interactions between the pyrazine and benzene rings and between the benzene rings [centroid–centroid distances = 3.5635 (15) and 3.9128 (16) Å] are present.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
