Abstract. This paper adopts the relevant data of five counties with poor economy in Fujian Province. It establishes a variable coefficient panel data model and analyzes the relationship between forest tourism and the county's economic growth and its third industry. The research results show that the tourism industry in Nanping has a positive influence on the regional economic growth and the third industry development. Based on these results, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions to promote the sustainable development of forest tourism.
