Quasi-hexagonal VO2/Ag3VO4 heterogeneous photocatalyst was successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal method. Detailed characterization was carried out based on X-ray powder diffraction pattern, scanning electron microscopy, UV-visible diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy. The as-prepared samples exhibited strong absorption in the UV-light region and displayed excellent UV-light-driven photocatalytic activities and stabilities in degradation of Rhodamine B under UV-light irradiation (λ = 400 nm). This enhanced photocatalytic activity might be attributed to the heterogeneous structure.
One-step preparation of silver nanowires on the silicon wafer has been performed successfully employing silver nitrate as silver source. The procedure was operated at room temperature employing an environmentally benign compound of ethylene glycol as reductive agent, which is a completely green route. The as-prepared products were characterized with X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectrum, which reveals uniform silver nanowires with average diameter of 20 nm. These silver nanowires were used to detect Rhodamine 6G via surface-enhanced Raman scattering. The characteristic peaks appeared when the concentration of Rhodamine 6G was 10 nmol•L -1 .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
