This paper proposes chain circuit active power filter for high voltage high power applications. The system configuration and its control methods are given in detail in this paper. Finally, a prototype APF, rated at 10KV/1MVA based on cascaded 23 rd -level cascaded inverter is described and the proposed method is implemented with a digital signal processors control system. The simulation and experimental waveforms show that good filtering characteristics and fast responses of the APF are achieved and the each capacitor voltage is also controlled and balanced by using the proposed control circuits, which can also be used in high voltage high power applications of more than 23 rd -level cascaded inverter for active power filters.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
