Introduction. Electronic theses & dissertations is one important service at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Library is to simplify the end-user reading service. However,it is still not understood whether the users are satisfied with the new service. An analysis is needed to examine the user acceptance of electronic theses & dissertations implemented by UGM Library.Data Collection Method. This paper used an acceptance analysis with a qualitative approach by interviewing three UGM students.Analysis Data. The paper applied Stuart Hall's theory of encoding-decoding.Results and Discussions. The results showed that the informants were categorises into two positions. One informant was in a dominant hegemonic position and the others were in negotiated positions. The background of the study program, the level of education and experiences, might influence the differences in the acceptance and interpretation of electronic theses & dissertations.Conclusions. There are various perspectives of how users examine to the electronic theses & dissertations at UGM Library.
Introduction. This research aims to obtain the mapping of research in the field of Library and Information in Berkala Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi(BIP) published by Universitas Gadjah Mada. The Research Method.This was abibliometric analysis using Zipf (frequency spread of word) with research samples of 20 jurnal articles published by BIP in 2017.Data Collection Method. Every article was examined by the highest word frequencyresulting keywords and subjects for each article. Further analysis was conducted to classify subject grouping based on Hawkins theory.Results and Discussions. The results indicated that research topics in Berkala Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi UGM in 2017 were classified into two categories: (1) There were, 16 articlesrelated to the topic “Librarians”, (2) There were 4 articles related to the topic“Information Science”. The result is the tendency of research topics in the field of the IPI entered into a group of librarianship.Conclusion. The research topics in the field of Library and Information Science is more likely to enter the librarianship group. Future advice is that researchers are expected to develop research by raising other topics.
This paper will provide an overview of how the security and persevation of the Church’s secreat archive. This case study was conducted in three parishes; St. Antonius, Kotabaru, St. John the Apostle, Pringwulung, and Christ the King, Baciro parish. The reason for the election of these three parishes is because they are interconnected in history. This research is descriptive research using qualitative approach method. Data collection techniques used were in depth interviews with staff and Priest. The collected data were analyzed by comparing how the security and perservation of the secret archives were conducted in all three places. The case study results are discussed in four sections: the secret archive storage space, storage and access rights, the maintenance of the secret archive and the prevention of the destruction of the secret archives of the Church. Treatment of secret archives, new to the stage of how to make good and neat arrangements, numbering (catalog). Another treatment effort is the prevention of damage by inserting the file in plastic.
