This paper describes a new datapath generator that generates high-density mask layouts equivalent to handcrafted ones.An entry of the generator is a hierarchical symbolic layout at the gate level. Bit-and-row-slicing technique is a key feature to realize large-size and high-density datapath generation. A 21K transistor datapath was generated using 1-p CMOS technology, whose density is 5.64 KTr/mm * greater than the 5.38 KTr/mm2 of a hand-crafted datapath.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
