Calculations based on experimentation on two c i r c u i t breakers, one having a high post-arc current l e v e l , t h e other not having a detectable post-arc current, have enabled us t o compare 3 ITRV t e s t c i r c u i t s . The main conclusion i s t h a t t h e i n t e r n a t i o n a l standard, i n speci f y i n g s t r e s s e s and not c i r c u i t s , does not lead t o not a b l e differences i n t h e s e v e r i t y of t h e tests.
