The article describes the characterization of some hereditary and acquired thrombophilias, which play a significant role in genesis of stroke. One of the ways to solve the problem of etiological diagnosis of thrombotic states is to identify the markers of hereditary or acquired pathology and to conduct molecular genetic typing of the hemostasis system factors. Thrombophilia screening is required for all patients with ischemic strokes of unknown etiology.
