The wild sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L) is distributed in Mongeiia along the basin of rivers and lakes, which disposed between high mountains in western and northern parts ofthe country. The wild sea buckthorn is a cold tolerant unique plant with beneficial value of medicinal and cosmetic products. About 7.2% of wild sea buckthorn berries belongs to seeds and the pratein in seeds composed 37.79%, while the protein in shells equal to 15.25%. Best extraction of protiens was successful at value of pH=l-3 or pH=10-12. The soluble protein content ofthe whole proteins in seeds was 37.4% at the value of pH=1 and 63.85% at pH=12, while the shell proteins were 16.2% and 22.8%, respectively. The tan1 content of essential amino acids is composed about 43.32-45.04% of whole protein. ~h e r~f~i e , it can be conclude that the sea buckthorn seeds are valuable resourse containing respectable amount of valuable proteins. Qn the other hand, seeds are undamageble during technological procedure and, therefore further precessing as raw material is advisable.
Five alkaloids were isolated from the epigeal part of Oxytropis myriophylla. Three alkaloids were identified as N-benzoyl-β-phenylethylamine, N-trans-cinnamoyl-β-phenylethylamine, N-cis-cinnamoyl-β-phenylethylamine and the structures of two new alkaloids were elucidated to be N-benzoyl-β-hydroxyphenylethylarnine(2), N-trans-cinnamoyl-β-hydroxy-phenylethylamine(5). The absolu.te structures were established by modified Mosher method.
Alkaloids such as 1H-cyclopenta(b) quinoline, 2.3.5.6.7.8-hexahydro-9-amino-; Vasicinone(1H-Pyrrоlo[2.1-b]quinazolin-9-one,3-hydroxy-2.3-dihydro) and harmine were isolated from cultivated plant of P. harmala. Four unknown alkaloids were isolated from P. harmala for the first time: 2.2.6.6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidone., Quinoline, 2.3.4-trimethyl-., Pyridine, 2-phenoxy-4-amino-and 4-(3-Propynyloxy)-quinazoline. Their structures were determined by GC-MS.
The detailed phytochemical study of Mongolian medicinal plants started in 1973, when a Department for a study of physiologically active substances chemistry was established in the Institute of Chemistry, Mongolian Academy of Sciences. We had studied alkaloids of 30 medicinal plant species grown in Mongolia for the first time. According to the study, 320 alkaloids had been isolated and their molecular structures were identified. Among them, 34 alkaloids had been established as natural new com-pounds and all results of the investigation were published in peer-reviewed international journals. Some biological activities of total alkaloids and certain individual compounds had been studied. In accordance with phytochemical and biological activity studies, several products, the cattle weight gain preparation “Targa”, the preparation for the uterus smooth muscles contraction “Alkum”, the anti-diabetic preparation “Dentamon-10”, the expectorant “Stelleriaphytin”, the liver protective and immune-active preparation “Barbadin”, had been obtained on the basis of collaborative work and the products had been introduced in the market.
