PENDAHULUANLaju pertumbuhan penduduk Indonesia yang sejalan dengan pergeseran gaya hidup dan tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat, menyebabkan semakin meningkatnya kebutuhan akan produk pangan yang berasal dari hewan. Salah satu komoditas peternakan yang sangat mungkin untuk mengimbangi kebutuhan tersebut adalah broiler.Broiler merupakan salah satu komoditas sektor peternakan yang cukup efisien dalam menyediakan zat-zat makanan sumber protein hewani yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat. Selain rasanya yang lezat dan digemari masyarakat, broiler paling mudah didapat dengan harga yang relatif terjangkau berbagai kalangan masyarakat. Salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas jerami padi dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan nilai cernanya melalui pemecahan ikatan kompleks lignoselulosa baik secara kimia, fisika, biologi maupun kombinasinya (Doyle et al., 1984). Teknik amoniasi termasuk perlakuan alkali yang dapat meningkatkan daya cerna jerami padi. Penduduk di Dusun Kedondong, Desa Tanjung Agung, Kecamatan Way Lima, Kabupaten Pesawaran sebagian besar bergerak di bidang pertanian dan peternakan. Ketersediaan jerami padi yang cukup tinggi belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh petani peternak bahkan jerami padi sering dibakar sehingga terbuang percuma. Kondisi ini terjadi karena kurangnya pengetahuan petani peternak dalam memanfaatkan jerami padi sebagai pakan ternak ruminansia. Jerami padi dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak terutama pada saat musim kering, ketersediaan hijauan pakan ternak termasuk rumput terbatas dan sulit dicari. Metode yang digunakan yaitu melalui penyuluhan dan diskusi bersama masyarakat terkait pengolahan jerami. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan bahwasannya masyarakat sangat antusias serta menerapkan pembuatan amoniasi pada jerami.
There are many methods to improve the performance and productivity of the broiler. Synbiotic is a product containing probiotics and prebiotics in one media. Synbiotic increase the digestibility of feed that contains a lot of crude fiber, eliminate the smell of ammonia in feces, increase the immune system, help increase growth and productivity, compete against pathogenic bacteria that harm and improve quality feed by increasing protein levels. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of broiler chickens using synbiotic. The total of 200-day old chickens divided into two treatments. The control is without symbiotic and the treatment using symbiotic into drinking water. The parameters are body weight, feed conversion, feed efficiency, and economic appearance such as benefits, break event point and income over feed cost. The results of the study showed that synbiotic increase feed consumption, body weight, feed efficiency, break event point and revenue cost, but decrease feed conversion than control. Addition symbiotic improve performance and economic appearance.
Wafer is one of the complete feed form processed feed which is formed in such a way with special tools, made from concentrate and forage. The purpose of this research was to implementation of wafer feed on based palm kernel cake for adult ongole crossbreed cattle. The cattle used was ongole crossbreed cattle, cow males used as much as 12 tails with approximately 2 years of age and average body weight 200 ± 25 kg. Wafer feed of based palm kernel cake treatment in 4 formulas, namely: Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, and Formula 4. Feed was given ad libitum controlled and drinking water was given ad libitum. The observation variables were done against: feed consumption, weight gain, and feed conversion. The results showed that: Wafer feed of based palm kernel cake treatment has no significant (P > 0.05) influence against feed consumption in adult ongole crossbreed cattle, daily weight increase in mature ongole crossbreed cattle with wafer feed; Formula 1 of 0.63 kg/tail/day, Formula 2 is 0.60 kg/tail/day, Formula 3 is 0.73 kg/tail/day, and Formula 4 is 0.80 kg/tail/day, the best feed conversion in the range of feed Formula 4 ie (4.13), feed Formula 3 ie (4.53), feed Formula 1 ie (5.13), and feed Formula 2 ie (5.43).
