Library management is a complicated and mechanical work. Many librarians suffer from mental health problems, which affects their professional responsibility. This paper aims to unveil the positive impacts of a good mental health on the professional responsibility of librarians. First, a questionnaire survey was carried out in two Chinese provinces. Through descriptive analysis of the collected data, the author evaluated how factors like gender, major and working age influence the mental health and professional responsibility of librarians. Then, the multi-ordered Logit model was adopted to discuss the impacts of six 6 influencing factors (work place, age, job title, monthly income, physical health and development prospect) on the mental health and professional responsibility of librarians. The results show that gender, major, and working age of the librarians have significant impacts on their mental health and professional responsibility; the six influencing factors greatly promote the mental health and professional responsibility of the librarians. This research sheds light on improving the mental health of librarians and enhancing their sense of professional responsibility.
This paper aims to design an effective mental health course for college students. Based on network sharing platform and social psychology theory, the author defined the key elements of course design, namely, organizational management, teaching content, platform construction, teachers and students. Then, the evaluation indices for teaching effect were determined according to the design elements. Finally, the teaching effect and degree of satisfaction of the designed course were evaluated through questionnaire survey and classroom teaching. The results show that the design philosophy is in line with the modern rules of mental health education for college students; the designed course improved the teaching effect of the test group by 26.5-31.4% through 6-10 months of classroom teaching; the course satisfaction index was 4.02, indicating that the course achieved most of the expected effects. The research findings provide new insights into the design and evaluation of mental health course for college students.
