Wireless sensor network (WSN) contains the various nodes and they gather data from different node and transfer it to the base station. In Wireless sensor Network, nodes are power constrained, because of limited battery power. In Wireless sensor networks, the main issue is limited eenergy cconsumption. Many routing protocols are used to increase the network lifetime. Mspin helps to increase the network lifetime of the nodes based on the data centric technique. However, there are some limitations of the M-spin protocol and these drawback of the M-spin protocol can be overcome by applying Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) Algorithm. The paper presents a comparative review of the M-spin protocol with PSO algorithm.
