In recent years the genetic algorithm (GA) has received more and more attention of scholars. In order to find an effective way to use GA widely, the basic knowlege of GA was introduced. After the introduction of its development, characteristic and application, the trends of its modification and application were analyzed. This study has significance in theory and practice for the study of GA.

In order to find a more effective method for real estate investment evaluation, the grey AHP is applied and hierarchical assessment system is presented. First, the grey-relevant method is employed to evaluate the profit of the investment. During quantifying the qualitative indexes, set-valued statistic analysis is introduced, which reduces the uncertainty of the real estate investment assessment. A case shows that the method is feasible and valid. This study has significance in theory and practice for the real estate investment management.

In order to find a more effective method of solving the problem of subjectivity and difficulty to deal with the high-dimension data, an improved Projection Pursuit (PP) based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) was introduced. The PSO algorithm was employed to optimize the function of the projected indexes in the PP. Application results show the efficiency of the modification. This study has significance in theory and practice for the related research.

In the history of English and American literature, Romantic Period is so important that cannot be ignored by people. A lot of good writers appeared and their famous works (especially in the field of poetry and prose) were produced. Though many differences between Great Britain and America exist, and the thoughts of writers between the two countries are so different, they have some common senses of Romanticism. This should not be forgotten. In order to point out this problem deeply, we have to pay an attention to the history background of the two countries, to the author’s biography and to the works of them completely. Some important writers such as Wordsworth and Emerson are discussed detailed in the paper.

In order to find a way to study the structure reliability further, the basic system of structural and the methods of analyzing were introduced. For the series system and parallel system, the calculation can be categorized into Point estimated method and interval estimated method. The point estimated method includes Stevenson-Moses method, Probability Network Evaluation Technique, Conditional Probability Method and Integrated Correlation Coefficient Method. The interval estimated method includes General boundaries of range and the narrow boundaries of range. The principle of method and the calculation steps methods were depicted in detail. This study has significance in theory and practice for the study of structural reliability.
