A fiber ring is very commonly used to generate stimulated Brillouin scatterings(SBS), especially by using fiber ring resonator. In this paper we theoretically analyzed some parameters of our interest in a coupled fiber ring resonator. We firstly analyzed a directional coupler, determined the optical power distribution among the four ports of the coupler. Then theoretically analyzed the transmission function of a coupled fiber ring resonator, followed by the simulation of the analysis. The simulation results show that the smaller the coupling coefficient is, the better the cavity finesse and extinction ration are, the lower the SBS threshold is, which is of great importance when it comes to the generation of SBS.
Fiber ring resonator is widely used to generate stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS). In this paper, the operation principle of SBS in a single mode fiber ring is analyzed, and the simulation method is proposed.
Fiber ring resonator is widely used to generate stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS). In this paper, the resonant condition of the acoustic wave in the ring is discussed, and the condition of simultaneous resonance of multiple cascaded SBSs in a single mode fiber ring is analyzed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
