Luwuk Banggai in Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, is a part of Sulawesi Island in the Wallacea Region with many rivers. These rivers host a high diversity of aquatic species, but this diversity is poorly known. This calls for taxonomic exploration, in particular for the fishes belonging to the Order Gobioidei, commonly called gobies. This study aimed to identify gobies present in rivers Luwuk Banggai, both as a contribution to scientific knowledge on goby biodiversity and distribution and to inform the management of (hitherto unregulated) aquatic resources by the local government agencies involved. The establishment of effective, science-based management is especially important and urgent for those gobies which have economic potential, in particular as freshwater ornamental commodities. The study was conducted from January to July 2019 in several Luwuk Banggai rivers: Mendono River, Mendono Village; Koyoan River; Simpong River; Soho River; Biak River; Honduhon River; Matanyo River; and Salodik River. The specimens obtained (n = 203) were measured and identified based on species-specific characteristics. Species belonging to the Family Gobiidae were more abundant (161 individuals from 20 species) than those in the Family Eleotridae (42 individuals from 6 species). One species commonly found in these rivers was Lentipes mekonggaensis (30 individuals).
Today, the problem of seaweed is the emergence of ice-ice disease, which causes economic losses. The solutions offered at this time are not significant, so there is a need for technology that can control the ice-ice disease. The effort is to use mangrove leaves to extract Avicennia marina. This study aimed to evaluate the inhibitory potential of mangrove leaves extract A. marina against bacteria that cause ice-ice disease in seaweed. Four pathogenic bacteria that cause ice-ice in seaweed, namely Stenotrophomonas maltophilia strain IAM 123, Shewanella haliotis strain DW01, Vibrio alginolyticus strain ATCC 17749 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain SNP0614 were tested using A. marina leaves extract with methanol solvent, the method used is the maceration method and antibacterial activity test using the Kirby-Bauer method with seawater complex (SWC) agar. The results showed phytochemical compounds found in A. marina leaves extracts, namely alkaloids, saponins, tannins, phenolics, flavonoids, triterpenoids, and glycosides. A. marina leaves extract using methanol solvent shows potential as an antimicrobial which is indicated by inhibition zones in each of the bacteria that cause ice-ice.
This community service is entitled: "Socialization of Management of Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes)" which was carried out in Uwedikan Village, East Luwuk District, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The purpose of this service is to increase knowledge about bumdes management for the uwedikan bumdes management in particular and the uwedikan community in general. This activity is a socialization involving students participating in real work lectures at the University of Muhammadiyah Luwuk Posko Luwuk City. The method of implementing this service activity uses counseling about the socialization of bumdes management which consists of 4 (four) stages, namely: 1). Socialization stage, 2). preparation stage and 3). Implementation stage and 4). Evaluation stage. The result of the implementation of community service activities regarding the socialization of bumdes management is the transfer of knowledge to the bumdes management so that it becomes the basis for managing bumdes to be better, develop and advance in the future so that it can become one of the sources of village finance, namely village original income. The conclusion is the result of the implementation of community service activities regarding the socialization of bumdes management to increase knowledge as a provision in managing the bumdes to be better, while the suggestion is that this socialization can be continued by the community by strengthening the bumdes institution, so as to increase new economic resources for the Uwedikan village community. and the results of this socialization are very useful so that it can be applied by the bumdes management in the Uwedikan village.
