This paper introduces the concept of a road input control system to coexist superior ride comfort performance with driving stability using an electric active stabiliser system. The specific road input control system studied, extends the skyhook theory in the roll direction to offer both ride comfort and driving stability. The predictions of performance achieved by this method have been confirmed through actual vehicle tests to offer superior ride comfort and tracing performance. Moreover, consumed power of the road input control was 7-25% of conventional steering input control because of the efficiency of the regenerated power in the active stabiliser system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
