ARFI imaging was observed to have no apparent histological damage to the placental tissue. Ex vivo placentas from the FGR group were significantly more firm. Moreover, Vs values and Z-scores of birthweight had a significant negative correlation. Additional investigations are needed about the utility of this method for the evaluation of placental function in vivo.

Hydrops and an early gestational age at diagnosis (<30 weeks of gestation), skin edema with ascites, and bilateral effusion predicted a poor prognosis in primary FHT cases. TAS was associated with a higher survival rate. © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

CL should be included in the assessment of a placenta previa given its relationship to emergent CS, cesarean hysterectomy, intraoperative blood loss and placental adherence.
