This paper aims to investigate the role of inflation, unemployment, and economic growth in explaining the prevalence of poverty in Bengkulu Province. The study used a time series data for 26 years . The data were secondarily sourced from statistics bureau. Ordinary least square (OLS) was used as an analytical technique. Empirical results show that inflation and unemployment have positive and economic growth has negative impact on poverty. The paper recommends to applied an appropriate macroeconomic policy which is crucial for poverty alleviation. To improve economic growth, efforts must be put in place to increase productivity; improving the level of local production. To restrain the surging rate of unemployment, it is necessary to creates a work training center, opening new economic centers, and linking education and skills needed in the labor market. Furthermore, there must be concrete efforts to controlling inflation, because inflation affects poverty mainly through its impact on real wage. In other word, inflation affects people's purchasing power.
This research is a quantitative descriptive research with explorative study type. The study was carried out in the Regency Strategic Areas namely South Bengkulu Regency, Kaur Regency and Seluma Regency. 295 respondents consisted of village officials, cooperatives, business groups, fisheries counselors, fishermen, sub-district heads, fisheries offices, DPRD and Bappeda. The main data collection is by distributing questionnaires and supporting data in the form of documents originating from Bappeda and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Bengkulu Regency, Kaur and Seluma as well as other sources that support research. Data analysis uses multi dimensional scaling (MDS) with rapfish approach to evaluate the sustainability status of integrated coastal area management, and partial least square (PLS) approach, which is a component or variant based structural equation modeling (SEM) model. The results of the study note that the sustainability status of integrated coastal management based on spatial, social and economic use in the Seluma Regency, South Bengkulu and Kaur Districts has a good sustainability status. Sensitive attributes that support from the social aspects ranging from the highest fishing skills, training, community awareness of coastal resources that will be depleted, involvement in the protection of coastal resources to the lowest sensitive attributes involved in institutions. The significant spatial, social and economic use of integrated coastal management in the Seluma, South Bengkulu and Kaur districts, all aspects significantly affect the integrated management of coastal areas.
During the pandemic, there are still many people in Pasar Bengkulu Village who do not work, where housewives should be able to use their free time more productively. Based on observations made in Pasar Bengkulu Village, many housewives who have been in the business of selling souvenirs in tourist areas, just don't develop it. Most housewives who have tried small businesses eventually close their businesses. If housewives have clear and systematic financial management and sales bookkeeping skills, then the side business of selling souvenirs that have been carried out so far is expected to run more smoothly and develop. The Master of Applied Economics at the University of Bengkulu conducted Community Service (PKM) activities in Pasar Bengkulu Village, Sungai Serut District, Bengkulu in the period July-November 2021. This PKM succeeded in attracting the interest of 30 activity participants to start implementing financial planning patterns and making business reports so that financial households are getting better and better.
This research investigated the effectiveness of the monetary policy in Indonesia. A cumulative summary test was used to determine the response of economic growth to monetary policy between 1990-2020. Furthermore, the data on gross national income, money supply, inflation, exchange rate, and interest rate was processed using error correction model regression. The results showed that monetary policy improved economic growth through channels of inflation and money supply, and the correlation was strong and valid both in the short and long term. The correlation of exchange rate and interest rate to economic growth was also observed to be significant only in the long term. The four variables had a significant, simultaneous effect on Indonesia's GDP. Therefore, the government needs to pay special attention to the enactment of monetary policy.
The objectives of this study include the analysis of how the effect of Human Capital and other determinants on Economic Growth in Bengkulu Province. The analytical method. using panel data regression statistical analysis tools for analyze how the influence of Human Capital (Human Capital) and other determinants of economic growth in Bengkulu Province. The results showed that the average length of schooling (X1), the workforce had the skills (X2) and investment (X9 had a significant positive effect on economic growth. While the Life Expectancy Rate (X5), Government Expenditure in the Health (X7) significant negative impact on economic growth. (X2), the Workforce has no skills (X3) Government Expenditures in the Education (X4),) Maternal Mortality Rate (X6) and Unemployment (X8) have no significant effect on economic growth in Bengkulu. Development that prioritizes improving the quality of human resources can be used as one of the regional development strategies in Indonesia, because the impact can not only create economic growth but also increase income distribution, so that the development objectives of growth and equity can be achieved simultaneously. There are still districts that have an education budget of less than 20% and health less than 10% need to be noted and improved so that later it is hoped that it can produce quality human resources so that districts / cities and Bengkulu Province can become more advanced and catch up with the Province.
