To explore the intellectual structure of digital divide research in the last decade, this study identified the most important publications and the most influential scholars as well as the correlations among these scholar's publications. In this study, bibliometric and social network analysis techniques are used to investigate the intellectual pillars of the digital divide literature. By analyzing 26,966 citations of 852 articles published in SSCI journal in digital divide area between 2000 and 2009, this study maps a knowledge network of digital divide studies. The results of the mapping can help identify the research direction of digital divide research and provide a valuable tool for researchers to access the literature in this area.
To explore the intellectual structure of web services research in the last eight years, this study identified the most important publications and the most influential scholars as well as the correlations among these scholar's publications. In this study, bibliometric, social network and tag clouds analysis techniques are used to investigate the intellectual pillars of the web services literature. By analyzing 22,785 citations of 1,510 articles published in SCI and SSCI journal in web services area between 2001 and 2008, this study maps a knowledge network of web services studies. The results of the mapping can help identify the research direction of web services research and provide a valuable tool for researchers to access the literature in this area.
This paper aims to explore the theoretical essentials of knowledge production of international marketing studies, from a dataset of 584 journal articles. A computer-aided co-citation network analysis of 21,828 citations that have been meticulously voted by over than ten-thousands of authors traces the historical timeline of the development paths and paradigms shift of international marketing studies. Using network analysis, we mapped the co-citation network and analyzed the top authors from 1997 to 2006. This could function as a concise reading list for Ph.D. students and assist them by economically providing material that acts as a roadmap for preparation for exams and assists in research work. Further, it could guide students in deciding their future research streams.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
