Introduction:The need for care and palliative care increased with the prolongation of mean life expectancy. One of the most frequently observed symptoms in palliative care is pressure ulcers. We aimed to measure the knowledge levels of caregivers serving hospitalized patients in the palliative care service and to investigate their relationship with socio-demographic characteristics, especially the knowledge levels.Methods: This study enrolled 109 people providing care to patients who received inpatient palliative care between November 1 and December 31, 2018. A questionnaire including questions about socio-demographic characteristics and knowledge about pressure ulcers was administered. The pressure ulcer status of the patients was evaluated by a physician. Results:The mean age of the caregivers was 49.49 ± 10.91 years . The mean knowledge level of the participants was 70.09 ± 18.58%.The minimum score was 0, and the maximum score was 100. It was found that 62.4% of the caregivers received information about pressure ulcers in the past, 30.3% of them didn't receive any information about pressure ulcers, and 7.3% received partial information. Conclusion:The knowledge level of the caregivers who were informed about pressure ulcers was significantly higher than those who were not informed (p=0.005). Therefore, we think that continuous education has an essential place in preventing pressure ulcers.
In parallel with the increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases in the world, there is an increase in cancer cases. When the patients admitted to the oncology polyclinics were examined; these patients were found to be receiving support from traditional and alternative medicine methods. In this study, we aimed to analyse the factors, results, cost, and especially the status of informing physicians before using traditional and complementary medicine (TCM) in the palliative care clinic in cancer patients hospitalized in our clinic and using TCM practices. Methods: The study was cross-sectional and monocenter. The questionnaire was applied to the cancer patients who were between the ages of 18-80, hospitalized in the Palliative Care Center of Haydarpasa Numune Training and Research Hospital, who gave verbal and written consent to participate in the study, hospitalized for more than three days, and who were conscious and not currently receiving curative treatment. Results: Of the patients, 29.7% stated that they applied TCM (n: 22). There was no correlation between the status of using TCM practice and age, gender, educational status and cancer stage. The most common method of TCM is phytotherapy. Of the patients, 50% used TCM method for the treatment of fatigue. Of the patients, 63.6% consulted their doctors before applying TCM method. Conclusions: The fact that patients have prejudices that they will be evaluated negatively when they inform the health personnel about the TCM method they use makes it difficult to reach the real prevalence of TCM method use. In our study, the rate of patients telling TCM use to their doctors was found to be higher than the literature. We think that the biopsychosocial patient approach in palliative care increases the incidence of patients and their complaints in the treatment process.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Antalya ilinde tüketicilerin perakendeci markalı süt ve süt ürünleri tercihlerini etkileyen faktörlerin analizinin yapılmasıdır. Bu amaçla Antalya ili kentsel alanda basit tesadüfî olasılıklı örnekleme yöntemine göre seçilen 245 tüketici ile anket yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, tüketicilerin demografik ve ekonomik özellikleri ile perakendeci markalı süt ve süt ürünlerinde tüketici tutum ve satın alma davranışı incelenmiştir. Görüşme yapılan tüketicilerin perakendeci markalı süt ve süt ürünleri tercihlerini etkileyen faktörlerin analizinde binary lojistik regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Model sonuçlarına göre; tüketicilerin eğitim durumu yükseldikçe perakendeci markalı süt ve süt ürünlerini tüketme etme olasılığı azalmaktadır. Ailedeki birey sayısı arttıkça perakendeci markalı süt ve süt ürünleri tüketim olasılığı artırmaktadır. Kadın tüketici sayısı arttıkça, perakendeci markalı süt ve süt ürünlerinin tüketim olasılığı artmaktadır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; tüketicilerin süt ve süt ürünleri tüketiminde perakendeci markalı ürünleri tercih etme eğiliminde oldukları söylenebilir.
