In this paper, a new design for the accelerator of hand-held GPS base-band processing is proposed. This GPS accelerator has the following features: 12 parallel tracking channels and 128-bit parallel correlator for rapid acquisition and reacquisition; programmable Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) with inputting sample rate between 1.023 MHz and 16.368 MHz; channel status uploading through DMA; working clock frequency not less than 80MHz. With this new design, hand-held GPS receiver could achieve higher performance and lower power consumption.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
