The semiconductor Cu 2 ZnSnS 4 (CZTS), was synthesized by reacting CuO, ZnO, and SnO with ethanolamine, 2-methoxyethanol, and thioglycolic acid. Anatase TiO 2 particle was dispersed into the CZTS precursor solution, so that TiO 2 /CZTS heterojunction was created through the nucleation of CZTS onto the TiO 2 surface. The photocatalytic efficiencies of TiO 2 /CZTS heterojunction samples with different TiO 2 : CZTS ratios were then investigated. The photocatalytic efficiency of TiO 2 /CZTS heterojunction sample was found to be superior to those of CZTS and the efficiency decreased with an increase in the TiO 2 : CZTS ratio. The highest efficiency, obtained from the 1:1 sample, was about 1.7 times that of P-25.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
