A new method for the preparation of alkyl vinyl ethers has been developed. Thus, various types of alkyl vinyl ethers were synthesized by the reaction of alcohols with vinyl acetate under the influence of a catalytic amount of [Ir(cod)Cl]2 combined with Na2CO3 in good to excellent yields.
Esterification Esterification O 0315 Synthesis of Enol and Vinyl Esters Catalyzed by an Iridium Complex. -The reaction of carboxylic acids with alkynes (I) or vinyl acetate is efficiently catalyzed by [Ir(cod)Cl] 2 giving the title compounds in acceptable yields. -(NAKAGAWA, H.; OKIMOTO, Y.; SAKAGUCHI, S.; ISHII*, Y.; Tetrahedron Lett. 44 (2003) 1, 103-106; Dep.
