The amorphous alloy Fe5Co70Si15B10 is subjected to a tensile test at a rate of 1.6 × 10−3 s−1 in the temperature range of 293 to 573 K. The tensile strength varies from 1480 MPa at 293 K to 1040 MPa at 573 K. A study is made of slip bands emerging in the fracture zone of the alloy at various temperatures. The use of a technique based on the examination of the dark‐field images of slip bands allows to assert that zones of compression and tension, as well as structural changes, developed in the bands.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
