The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of toothpaste «Apadent Total Care» containing nanocalciumhydroxyapatite and its influence on caries resistance of tooth enamel and teeth sensitivity. The study involved 30 people: 15 patients aged 17-25 years and 15 aged 35-44 years. Study participants used «Apadent Total Care» toothpaste with nanocalciumhydroxyapatite. To evaluate the effectiveness of toothpastes clinical assessment of enamel remineralization rate was carried out, as well as the dynamics of enamel acid resistance and teeth sensitivity (Shiff index). Clinical evaluation of tooth enamel before the procedure and after 3 months of use of toothpaste with nanohydroxyapatite showed the improvement of all indices. Time for complete remineralisation of enamel in both groups did not exceed 3 days. Acid resistance of tooth enamel increased by 1.65 in group I and 1,75 in group II. The Schiff index after 3 months of using «Apadent» toothpaste also decreased in both groups.
The aim of the study was to assess gender-related preferences in the choice of oral rehabilitation methods. The study involved 225 patients aged 16-75. The analysis included patients survey and the assessment of actual procedures received during one year follow-up. The study revealed women to be more attentive to oral health issues resulting in more regular appointments and better compliance. Dental treatment before planned pregnancy was, however, completed in only half of the patients. When choosing materials and constructions for oral rehabilitation the leading criteria for men were 'quality' and 'safety', while women chose 'esthetics' and 'quality'. Both genders would like to have their teeth 'whiter' but women undergo bleaching procedures more often. The dentists need to consider the revealed gender-related features for planning of prevention, treatment and full oral rehabilitation.
Physiotherapy makes it possible to effectively influence all the links in the pathogenesis of periodontitis. The use of ultrasound plays a special role in the treatment of periodontal diseases. With the help of ultrasonic vibrations, drugs (ultraphonophoresis) can be introduced into the tissue. For its implementation, water and oil solutions of medicinal substances are used. In periodontal practice, ultrasound is most often used to remove dental plaque. It is of scientific interest to use low-frequency ultrasound in combination or in combination with physical factors that have a pronounced antibacterial effect, such as ozone . High oxidizing properties of ozone provide its therapeutic effect, manifested in disinfecting, metabolic, immunomodulating and deodorizing effects. When conducting local ozone therapy in the oral cavity, it is necessary to accurately dose the concentration of ozone, therefore, in our opinion, the use of ozonized solutions and oils in dentists is safer and more promising. The combined and combined effects in the treatment of periodontitis of low-frequency ultrasound and ozone therapy, in the production of ozone using short ultraviolet radiation, will provide a comprehensive therapeutic effect, which consists in suppressing the vital activity of pathogenic microorganisms and stimulating metabolic processes in the tissues of the macroorganism.
External cervical resorption of the root of the tooth, is asymptomatic and has no characteristic morphological manifestations, to make a reliable diagnosis in most cases is impossible. External inflammatory root resorption is one of the most destructive and aggressive types of pathology. The analysis of domestic and foreign literature and publications. This article highlights the main etiological factors and pathogenesis mechanisms of external resorption of the root. Both local and systemic etiological factors can lead to the development of root resorption. Allocate superficial, inflammatory and replacement external resorption. The modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of this disease are considered.
