The ignition delay times are measured in propane-oxygenl mixtures strongly diluted with argon. The experiments are carried out in a shock tube behind the front of the reflected shock wave in the temperature range T = 1250-1770 K at pressure p = 30 atm and the following values of the excess fuel ratios: φ = 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0. It is shown that, in the region of the studied temperatures, the ignition delay time in propane increases with an increase in φ. The obtained data are compared with the results of other measurements, which shows that at low temperatures (T ≤ 1000 K) the dependence of the ignition delay time on φ has the opposite character.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
