At present opportunity to apply phase conjugation phenomenon to laser facilities is widely investigated /1, 2/. High power nanosecond laser designs with SRS mirrors are considered as well /3, 4/. To discuss such designs it is very important. to obtain experimental data on performance of kilojoule class lasers, having aperture '> 0.5 rn, with phase conjugation. However, there is no publications in literature about experiments of such level. In our paper we present first experimental data, having been obtained on gas iodine laser with (0.4 -1.2) rn aperture and 6 kJ radiation energy in a nanosecond pulse in a single channel, using SBS mirror.
Laser setup is shown inFig.l. (20 -50) ns duration pulse of mester oscillator is applied to a power channel input. Power channel consists of two iodine arnpl if lers and SBS cell. Energy, pulse shape, near and far field images of input, incident, reflected and output beair are recorded in experiments.
