In mature fields with platforms slot constrained multilateral technology provides a solution that allows for full bore access to the lateral while maintaining the value of the existing well bore production thereby increasing ultimate recovery. Through the use of multilateral technology ConocoPhillips gained the additional benefit of minimizing hole collision problems in cluster wells.
