Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by impaired insulin secretion, insulin resistance, or a combination of both. Controlling blood sugar levels is the main thing for DM sufferers, one of which is with diet/nutrition therapy. Correct diet therapy is based on basic knowledge and attitudes. good for controlling blood sugar This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and dietary compliance with blood sugar levels in DM patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic at Vita Insan Hospital in 2019. This research is an analytic study with a cross-sectional design, carried out from July 2019. the sample used a purposive sampling technique consisting of 52 DM patients. The data taken included aspects of knowledge, attitudes.diet adherence (primary) and blood sugar levels (secondary) Computerized data processing using Chi Square test Univariate analysis results showed 69.2% of patients had uncontrolled blood sugar levels, 59.6% of patients had insufficient knowledge but 59.6% patients had a positive attitude towards efforts to control blood sugar and 53.8% of patients were disobedient to the diet given. From Bivariate analysis there was a significant relationship between knowledge, dietary adherence and blood sugar levels (p<0.05), but for attitudes there was no significant relationship (p-0.05) Suggestions for health workers to further improve patient understanding of the DM diet so that patient's blood sugar levels are controlled by providing education and developing information provision, for the family it is necessary to provide support and motivation so that the patient is on a diet.
The research entitled The Relationship of Pharmaceutical Services to Patient Satisfaction at the Trading Health Center, Bandar District, Simalungun Regency was conducted in July - August 2019. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of pharmaceutical service standards at the Puskesmas, the level of patient satisfaction and the effect of applying pharmaceutical service standards on satisfaction Patients This research is a descriptive survey research that is cross-sectional. Data collection was carried out by observation by researchers to find out the application of pharmaceutical service standards and to conduct interviews with patients to determine the level of satisfaction with pharmaceutical services. Data was collected from 170 respondents in July-August 2019 at the Trading Health Center, Bandar District, Simalungun Regency, The application of pharmaceutical service standards studied in this study is human resources, facilities and infrastructure for the management of drugs and medical consumables, clinical pharmacy services and service quality control. The criteria for measuring the level of satisfaction include five variables, namely reliability, responsiveness, confidence, empathy and tangible facilities. The results showed that the implementation of pharmaceutical service standards at the Commercial Health Center, namely the application of pharmaceutical service standards at the Commercial Health Center, was included in the less category. Based on the average value of total patient satisfaction, the level of patient satisfaction at the Jawa Maraja Health Center was included in the satisfied category. The application of pharmaceutical service standards at the Commercial Health Center to patient satisfaction with the Mann-Whiteney Test obtained a sig value of <0.05.
Bronchial asthma has varying incidence rates in different countries, but there is a tendency for this disease to increase in number, even though asthma medications have been developed. This study aims to determine the pattern of treatment of bronchial asthma in patients at the Parsoburan Health Center, Pematangsiantar City for the period January-March 2017. This research was a non-experimental (observational) descriptive study conducted using a retrospective method. The data used are medical records of bronchial asthma patients. The results of the study showed that in the January-March 2017 period there were 18 cases of bronchial asthma. The gender distribution of bronchial asthma patients was 66.7% male and 33.3% female, while the age distribution of bronchial asthma patients was divided into 4 groups, namely, Toddlers (0≤5 years) by 33.3%, children (5<n<12 years) by 5.6%, adults (12<n<65 years) by 38.9%, and elderly (> 65 years) of 22.2% The general description of prescribing the highest number of drugs given to bronchial asthma patients in one prescription are 5 and 6 drugs each of 38.9%, the distribution of drug classes used for therapy includes, bronchodilators 25, 7%, mucolytic 18.5%, corticosteroid 15.5%, anti-microbial 15.5%, anti-hypoxemia 4.1%, analgesic 6.2%, anti-histamine 3.1% and accompanying drugs (anti- diabetic, anti-epileptic, anti-hypertensive, anti-angina, and vitamins) given at 1% each. Distribution of discrepancies in drug administration based on the Indonesian National Drug Informatorium standard of 17.5%, based on the Physicians Drug Handbook standard of 0%,
Free radicals are compounds or molecules that contain one or more unpaired electrons in their outer orbitals. If the production of free radicals is excessive, it can cause oxidative damage which ends in cell death resulting in the acceleration of various degenerative diseases. To neutralize the work of free radicals, external antioxidants are needed. Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) is a source of natural antioxidants that contain flavonoids that can neutralize free radicals. This research included sample preparation, examination of simplicia characteristics, screening of simplicia phytochemicals, extract preparation, determination of SOD activity spectrophotometrically using reagents. A total of 30 rats were divided into 6 groups consisting of the control group, the stress-induced group, the comparison group, and the three stress-induced and EEBA groups with doses of 75 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg, and 300 mg respectively. /kg bw. Stress induction was carried out by administering EEBA for 7 days and continued by administering EEBA together with doxorubicin for the next 2 days. The results showed that the average SOD level in the control group was (4.626 0.2583), the doxorubicin group (1.956+ 0.0879), the EEBA group 75 mg kg body weight (2.444 0.0844), the EEBA group 150 mg/kg body weight ( 3.052 +0.1139), the EEBA 300 mg/kg body weight (3.646+0.1739) and the Routine 50 mg/kg body weight 5.594 + 0.2056), EEBA had higher SOD activity when compared to the doxorubicin group. Based on the statistical results, SOD activity increased with the increase in the dose of EEBA given and showed a significant difference (p<0.05) between the EPBA group and the doxorubicin group. Observations on liver tissue in the group given EEBA showed better conditions than the liver in the doxorubicin group.
