Using biological flocculent chitosan, the optimal treatment conditions of the soybean products wastewater were determined to be 0.4 mg/mL chitosan, pH 4.0 and 20 C. The ammonia nitrogen removal rate is 51.8%. Based on the above results, another 34.6% of removal rate of ammonia is achieved by further treatment of wastewater with yeast. It is demonstrated that the wastewater pollution indexes are reduced and the resource utilization of wastewater is achieved through the treatment of soybean products wastewater with flocculent chitosan and then culturing yeast.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
