related compounds. ' We have not tested its general applicability, but it gives better results than the direct reaction of the dichloride with MeOH. The general course of the reactions of DMSO with acid chlorides has been discussed e x t e n s i~e l y .~-~ The reaction generates chloromethyl methyl sulfide, which can react further with DMSO, but this reaction is slower than that of DMSO with a phosphonic dichloride, cf. ref 8, and causes no problems.
Two types of fluorosilicone polymers are described, the poly(fluoroalkyl)-siloxanes and the hybrid fluorocarbon silicones. The first type, represented by the structure (CF3CH2CH2SiMeO)n exhibits good solvent resistance, thermal and oxidative stability and is commercially available in the form or rubber, sealants and fluids. The second type, is in the research stage and has demonstrated much improved stability especially under confined heating conditions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
