Traditionally electrical drives and uninterruptable power supplies generate pulse width modulated outputs. Harmonic content of such waveforms are known to cause problems. Therefore, it is worthwhile to investigate 3-phase sinus output topologies, which can compete with traditional inverter topologies, regarding performance and cost. In this paper, first some topologies for producing single-phase sinus output are reviewed. Then, the possibility of using these single-phase units for producing 3-phase output is investigated. Finally, the findings are evaluated and the course for further investigation is identified.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
