This study present a new gait analysis method by using tri − axes acceleration sensor attached at thejoint ofankle . The final purpose ofthis study is to centribute the design of pedestrian space in a concept of universal design . This paper firstly constructs a portable gait characteristic measurement system and applies one − way analysis of variance ( ANOVA )and Prjncipal component analysis ( PCA ) method to tri −axes acceleration data . Some of individual trends could be evaluated by the mentioned statistical methods , however more elaborate analysis based on physical science and kinesiology will clarify the result that can assist the design ofacomfortable pedestrian space .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
