The introduction of Smart Grid concept contributes to the development of multiple new algorithms and equipment for their control. The best of currently available tools for this is a simulation. Its advanced application is a technology of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing that allows providing fast prototyping and getting ready to use products in a short time. However the growing complexity of new concepts of control systems demands the improvement of HIL performance in order to make it easier and also allow a better analysis of the impact of those systems onto conventional grid. The approach and tools that allow looping not only the tested controller and a simulator but also a simulator and power system monitoring system in real time are described in this paper.Index Terms-closed loop systems, hybrid integrated circuits, real time systems.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
