A ~15-GW peak power, 1.1-W average power, mid-wave-infrared, femtosecond laser based on Fe:ZnSe and pumped by free-running Er:YAG lasers was demonstrated. 247-fs, 3.7-mJ pulses centered at 4.05 µm were produced at 300 Hz.
Mid-infrared pulses with 200 nJ energy and 200 nm bandwidth were generated at 4.1 µm and 60 kHz repetition rate. The highly-stable LiGaS2-based Optical Parametric Amplifier was pumped by a turn-key, commercially available Yb:KGW laser.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
