ChemInform Abstract It is demonstrated that the developed form of the high-temp. isopiestic technique is very useful for measurements of the isothermal-isobaric compositions of melts (not only liquid alloys, but also molten salts) with only one common volatile component. The activities of Hg in Hg-Bi, Hg-Ga, Hg-In, and Hg-Sn amalgams are calculated from the measured isothermal-isobaric data using Hg-Cd amalgam as reference system. Based on these data, the activities of Bi, Ga, In, and Sn in the amalgams are derived.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
