The concentration dependence of the sedimentation coefficient of poly(amidobenzimidazole) solutions in the neutralized form in DMAA and in the hydrochloride form in DMAA +0.3% LiCl has been investigated. With the aid of this dependence, the molecular weights Mks and the coefficients (1‐b) in the equation S0 = K = M1–b for these two systems were determined. The values of Mks obtained here agree with those obtained from sedimentation‐viscometric and sedimentation‐diffusion measurements. The macromolecules in both systems show different rigidities.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
