Indoor air radon ((222)Rn) concentrations were measured in spring and winter in 30 rooms of 9 elementary schools and 19 rooms of 6 high schools in Prizren, Kosovo, using alpha scintillation cells. Only in three rooms of elementary schools and four rooms of high schools did winter concentrations exceed 400 Bq m(-3).

A statistical treatment of energy transfer from one ferroelectric chain to another through the mechanism of domain-wall solitons is presented. Two one-dimensional ferroelectric chains are considered which have a junction point enabling energy exchange between the chains. The contribution of domain-wall mechanism in the energy transfer process is compared to the contribution due to the mechanism of linear excitations in the chains.

In this paper we have calculated an expression for the probability of capture of atomic, low-energy conversion electrons by Davydov's solitons, the atom being attached to a one-dimensional molecular crystal.
