method is presented for the synthesis of cefpodoxime proxetil (XII), a third-generation cephalosporin for oral administration. Compared to previously reported methods the new procedure affords better yields and no purification step by column chromatography is necessary. -(RODRIGUEZ, J. C.; HERNANDEZ, R.; GONZALEZ, M.; RODRIGUEZ, Z.; TOLON, B.; VELEZ, H.; VALDES, B.; LOPEZ, M. A.; FINI*, A.; Farmaco 58 (2003) 5, 363-369; Ist. Sci. Chim., Univ. (13)C NMR spectroscopic data for 25 cephalosporin derivatives were assigned by combination of one- and two-dimensional experiments. The effect of the substitution at C-3, C-7 and C-4 acid group positions on the chemical shifts of the cephem nucleus is discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
