The dynamic development of the world is characterized by changes of the current state, that is by innovations, which are supposed to bring desirable economic effects. However, unethical intentions could also deliver the results fast but in an undesirable way. Unethical goals are mostly based on quantitative values and do not respect the existence of qualitative values and cannot satisfy the needs of the whole society. Therefore, it is desirable to apply responsible management which respects both, quantitative as well as qualitative values. Formation of the ethical environment is a long-term task which requires managers who act as ethical leaders according to the certain principles. Management aims to change the status quo - thus management is the management of the innovation process. Management of management (leadership) is an innovation of the management theory and practice. The converging strategic goals should be a company’s Goodwill and Corporate Culture. To reach these goals it will be necessary a cooperation between the business and educational and scientific organizations, as well as respecting the rules of the innovation process which includes continuity, timeliness, complexity and consistency.
The contemporary management is often faced with the fact that in theory accepted basis are not in managerial practice fully followed. As an example, could be stated the understanding of the company as a system. In theory, an enterprise is defined as a relatively isolated system, but the practice often does not respect this fact and allows the company to act as an absolutely isolated system. Therefore, we encounter new concepts shareholder management and stakeholder management, which draw attention to this contradiction. If the practice does not respect the theoretical findings, management ceases to fulfil its strategic objective and creates a path to consumer thinking and consumer society. The ongoing economic crisis confirms these findings and highlights one of the main reasons which could be considered as lack of ethics in management. The aim of this paper is to inspire the reader to reflect on the possible changes of management philosophy.
Abstract:The liver is one of the most important visceral organs, which represents a large contribution to whole animal energy expenditure and the major synthetic site of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) peptide. Decreased plane of nutrition acts by reducing the metabolic rate and mass of metabolic tissues, such as liver. Also, undernutrition results in the reduced circulating IGF-1 concentrations, due to the uncoupled growth hormone-IGF (GH-IGF) axis. This study investigated whether a 22-day period of undernutrition (half maintenance) could affect liver mass and IGF-1 protein and gene expression. Sixteen pregnant ewes fed all (n = 9) or half (n = 7) of their maintenance energy requirements were slaughtered on day 7 of pregnancy (oestrus = day 0). Body and liver mass, IGF-1 plasmatic concentrations and liver IGF-1 mRNA and protein expression were determined. Liver mass and the proportion of liver mass to empty body weight were lower in underfed animals. While IGF-1 plasmatic concentrations were lower in undernourished ewes, no differences in liver mRNA expression were found. This is the first time that differences in immunohistochemistry intensity and total content are reported in sheep. In summary, the decreased plasma IGF-1 concentrations induced by undernutrition in ewes was not associated with its reduced hepatic mRNA or protein expression, but to a decrease in liver mass.
The dynamic development of the world is realized by changes in the current state, i.e. innovations, the parameters of which would allow relatively fast, even incomprehensive effects, from which competitive advantages and financial benefits are expected. On the contrary, it delivers quantitative values without their desirable quality that would satisfy the demands and expectations of innovation. Responsible management requires not only quantitative values, such as project or material and costs incurred, etc. It requires qualitative innovation to meet the ethical needs and social interests of the surroundings, and not just of the customer or the producer. We are talking about quantitative and qualitative innovations. Quantitative information can be tracked to a large extent during the implementation of innovation through the supplier's technical inspection. The qualitative values of innovation are gained by demonstrating its usefulness by observing technical and economic parameters, ethical and legal requirements and goals. It is too late to judge the qualitative values of innovation after their implementation. Solving the problems of the current state or activity depends on the quality of decision and the definition of invention. It differs according to the degree of respect for the principles of managerial ethics and the difficulty of innovation. This is true regardless of whether the decision concerns a working or personal environment. It is certain, however, that only humans are able to decide and ethically solve the problem. Effective decisions depend on the level of responsibility and respect for ethical values when designing and implementing innovation.
