Gynecologic cancers are among major health problems in terms of mortality and morbidity in women all over the world. There is a possibility of loss of reproductive organs after diagnosis of cancer, and diagnosis can cause some psychosocial reactions due to the special meaning attributed to the reproductive organs of women. The psychosocial aspects of the reactions of women to gynecological cancers may vary based on the developmental process of cancer, developmental stages of life and type of cancer. This review discusses the psychosocial aspects of gynecologic cancers based on the cancer development process, the developmental stages of life and type of cancer.
