This study examines a building located on the Adana-Ankara road axis in Kayseri, and its relationship with its immediate surroundings in terms of urban design, during its design and construction process, as well as post-construction. The study consists of two main sections. The first looks at the use of the Building Design Management in Urban Design (BDMUD) method in relation to this building. BDMUD is a proposed new method for integrating urban design, urban planning and architectural design, by adding collaboration planning to Virtual Reality (VR) and Building Information Model (BIM).The second section is a post-construction survey to evaluate the success of the BDMUD method in terms of the building's size, geometric shape (hereafter form), proportion, material, building layout and building use-land use conducted with a target group comprising city planners and architects based in Kayseri and architecture students (especially senior students) from the Erciyes University Department of Architecture. The survey group represents stakeholders with a role in the transformation of urban spaces who are able to give an opinion on urban design. The outcomes of the survey are presented in percentage comparison. In the survey, 100% of the architects, 85.7% of the city planners and 94% of the architecture students recognized that the building was designed using the BDMUD method due to its differentiation from the other buildings on the road axis. In other words, according to 91.1% of the participants, the BDMUD method resulted in differentiation between this building and the others in terms of form, proportion, material and building layout. On the other hand, in terms of building use-land use at this site, 62.75% of the participants preferred mixed use with commercial use on the ground floor and residential use on the upper floors, while 37.25% of participants favored commercial
To provide a competitive edge in today's conditions of globalization businesses are required to go beyond the classical methods. When we take into account the basic structure of the contemporary value chain and its importance, we can describe supply chains as "Outstanding Competitiveness Creator Source" for businesses. In this context this can be said that a supply chain network design decision whis has a strategic importance in all processes inculiding procurement of raw materials, manufactured products and services delivered to the customer, even after sales services is a critical decision for businesses. On the other hand because of the awareness of customers, being more searching and questioning and taking into account not only ergonomics but also the environmental impact of products in the information society, businesses are required to make environmentally sensitive activities in all conducting business processes. In this study, a model is proposed for the design of a supply chain distribution network that may be suitable for new business processes which are shaped by globalization and the information society's effect. The model includes raw material supply, production, distribution, recycling activities design as flexible and environmentally sensitive processes for a product with more than one component.
In this research, an answer is sought to the question to what local governments' role in the change and transformation of cities as a tool of capital after 2000 is, with the effect of neo-liberal urban policies and neo-dirigisme and the change of public administration understanding. Another question of the study is: what are the effects of the capital-oriented transformation of urban space on urban rent in cities planning, in accordance with neo-liberal policies, and what is the role of planning in this transformation. In this research, it is aimed to investigate the legal changes made for local governments with the effect of neo-liberal policies and neo-dirigisme in Turkey after 2000 and to investigate how local government authorities are transformed. In consideration of this research, in order to investigate how the large-scale urban projects realized in the city of Kayseri affect the urban space in the context of neo-liberal policies. It was aimed to investigate the effects of large-scale urban projects on rent that they were implemented in the city of Kayseri in accordance with neo-liberal policies by years after 2000, and it was aimed to investigate the relationship between urban transformation projects and large-scale urban projects, in maintaining the increase of urban rent and role of urban transformation projects. In order to better understand the transformation of public lands, the decisions are taken in the 1986 plan, the development plans of 2006 and 2017, and the current Google Earth aerial photographs which show the current situation were compared by using the plan comparison method. Evaluating the increase of rent method was used in order to investigate the effect of neo-liberal policies and large-scale urban projects on rent in Kayseri. In the study, the changes in the market value of the land and its rent increase were calculated by using the inflation calculation method. In the study, large-scale urban projects realized in the city center of Kayseri after 2000, as well as the transformation of public lands, and the transformation of its surroundings are handled. Evaluation of the increase of rent experienced in and around large-scale urban projects due to the current market values of the land are determined by the appraisal commissions every 4 years, the market values of the land in 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018 were calculated. When large-scale urban projects and their site selections are examined, it has been seen that the project areas are constructed on public lands. This change and transformation are provided by the changes in land use plans. The large-scale urban projects implemented as a result of development plan changes and with the intense construction pressure of its surroundings, it has begun to transform into high-rise (density) residential areas. Large-scale urban projects have caused a significant increase in the current market value of the land as of the years of construction, but this increase did not continue in the following years; however, with the existence of urban tran...
