Background: miRNAs participate in the regulation of skeletal muscle development. Results: miR-148a promotes myogenic differentiation and down-regulates ROCK1 gene at the translational level. Conclusion: miR-148a plays a positive role in skeletal muscle development via ROCK1 down-regulation. Significance: Our findings reveal a novel mechanism in which miR-148a controls myogenesis through the RhoA/ROCK pathyway.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
